Quijo Story

Timeless creations, anchored in craftsmanship

Today, Quijo is a house of trust, creativity and craftsmanship.

In the heart of Bruges, we design and craft unique jewelry in our own workshop. Contemporary designs, classic pieces with a twist, and exclusive custom creations. Our customers appreciate our personal approach, high-quality craftsmanship, and the ability to breathe new life into existing jewelry.

Whether you're looking for a special gift, want to have an heirloom reworked, or desire a completely custom design, at Quijo, every piece of jewelry becomes a story. Our collection is extensive, varied, and accessible; for all ages, and for every budget.

It is a place where stories, generations and styles come together and where every piece of jewellery is made with love, for almost 80 years.

Three generations passion and precision

Fernand Quijo

The founder

Quijo’s story begins shortly after World War II, in 1946. Fernand Quijo opened his watchmaker’s shop in the heart of Bruges. His passion quickly expanded beyond timepieces. His eye for detail and love of precious materials led to his first jewelry pieces, which he crafted entirely by hand. Fernand thus laid the foundation for a company that prioritized quality, elegance, and personalized service.

Peter Quijo

The visionary

In 1976, son Peter Quijo followed in his father’s footsteps, armed with goldsmith training and a strong creative vision. He breathed new life into Quijo with innovative designs and original cuts, including the world-famous “Qui Shape,” inspired by the cobblestones of Bruges. His creations won international design awards, including the prestigious De Beers Diamond International Award several times. Under his leadership, Quijo became an established name both domestically and internationally. Peter launched his own timepieces, unique jewelry lines, and brought Bruges’ heritage—from cobblestones to lace—to life in his designs.

Jade Quijo

The new generation

Jade Quijo, daughter of founder Peter, has been part of the creative team for several years now. With her background in interior design and training as a goldsmith, she brings a fresh, contemporary vision to the house. She brings innovation, a new structure, and refinement to the organization, while her collection adds color, youth, and elegance to the existing offering. In this way, Jade continues to build on the tradition of craftsmanship and innovation, with an eye for personal expression and a modern aesthetic.
